NICOLAS HENRY
Director of the Photoclimat Festival
Nicolas Henry is a French photographer, director and visual artist who graduated from the Beaux Arts de Paris. His very personal writing develops on the border between portraiture, theater and installation. He has characters play in dreamlike universes built by entire communities. His works mixing writing, photographs, and sculptures have been exhibited all over the world.
Alongside a career as a lighting designer and scenographer in show business, he traveled the world as a director for Yann Arthus-Bertrand's "6 billion others" project. He provided artistic direction during the exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris. Following his series of portraits of ancestors from around the world "The cabins of our grandparents" (Editions Actes Sud), his book on communities "Imaginary tales around the world - World's in the making" was released in 2016 by Editions Albin Michel and receives the Mediterranean Art Book Prize 2017.
